Friends of Tubbs for Lieutenant Governor 2026 is a coalition of progressive and equity-minded donors, led by Steve Phillips and other members of the California Donor Table (CDT). Contributions will fund voter outreach and communications to elect Michael Tubbs to the second highest office in California.
The state’s Lt. Governor fills in for the Governor when they are out-of-state or incapacitated. They also break ties in the State Senate, serve on the Board of Regents of the UC, CSU and CCC systems, and lead economic and sustainability initiatives on various state commissions, including the California State Lands Commission, Coastal Commission, and Commission for Economic Development. Historically, Lt. Governor is the leading stepping stone to Governor and beyond.
